Celebrate Doctors Day 2010 by keeping away from the hospital

Next to lawyers, there are few professions offered up as often for jokes as doctors – even on Doctors Day. The 2010 rendition of the 77-year-old honorary holiday is yet another reminder that despite the jokes, doctors are a vital part of society and worthy of our respect. Doctors’ Day, which became official in 1990 when Congress created the holiday, is celebrated throughout the United States. Since March 30, 1933, people have been observing Doctor’s Day. According to the Huffington Post, that’s when Dr. Charles Almond’s wife, Eudora Brown Almond began honoring physician in Winder, Georgia.

Give thanks to your doctor on Doctors Day 2010

Doctors Day 2010 is the best day to thank a doctor who improved or saved the life of yourself or a loved one. It’s a day to recognize that there are more telling insights on the noble profession, despite all the critical jokes and the have to obtain payday loans to fund those medical expenses. Doctors are very important to the human race. As the Web site DoctorsDay.org puts it, Doctors Day 2010 is “a day to celebrate the contribution of physicians who serve our country by caring for its citizens.” On an everyday basis, doctors are in charge of our well-being and take on the mantle of that responsibility. Without them, the average lifespan of human beings would be significantly shorter. It will not be a good trade-off to not need quick payday loans to pay doctor bills.

How to honor your doctor on Doctors Day 2010

At this point, cards sent in the mail won’t get there on time, as Doctors Day 2010 is today, but even if it’s just a little late, the intention counts. Flowers like the red carnation – which is associated with the National Doctors Day Holiday – are certainly appropriate. You could also get a squeezable stress ball or Rx chocolate bar, which are a few good ideas taken from the Huffington Post. E-mail is immediate, so signing up for a service like Jib Jab or one of a variety of free E-card services is a great idea. If you are a doctor yourself, there’s a Doctors Day 2010 poster you might like, plus more fun Doctors Day stuff.
