Adam Lambert fans like myself will probably be very sorry to hear that he won’t be playing at a televised event on New Year’s Eve. He was originally scheduled to appear on ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” but he was pulled from the lineup after he got a little to sexy for ABC on the American Music Awards.

When I wrote earlier about ABC dumping Adam Lambert, several fans expressed their desire to watch whichever program he ended up on. Many agreed with me that another network would have raked in some pretty high ratings if they booked Adam Lambert on New Year’s Eve. No doubt some of the other networks were seeing visions of quick cash when they considered booking him. However, though Adam Lambert will indeed be headlining a huge show on New Year’s Eve, it won’t be televised.

Using his powers for good

Adam Lambert’s fans love him so much because he oozes rock star in his dancing, his clothing, his lyrics and his very presence. We also love him because when we watch interviews of him, it becomes clear that is genuinely a good guy — a very good guy.

So it should come as no surprise that he will be playing a show that benefits the Red Cross. The annual Gridlock New Year’s Eve party in Los Angeles is a pricey affair for a good cause, and Adam Lambert is headlining this year. Tickets start at $150, but attendees can take advantage of a premium open bar throughout the show.

A very Adam Lambert New Year’s Eve

Rumor has it that Adam will play a 40-minute set, beginning at midnight. Before Adam Lambert, the main stage will feature Kevin Rudolf. Throughout the evening, attendees can also catch performances by Far East Movement, Wonderland and QWES.
